Meet the Trustees

Meet the Trustees

Each Citizens Advice office is an independent charity with it’s own board of trustees. Our trustees are volunteers who use their skills, knowledge and experience to guide and govern what we do, working with our Chief Executive and other staff to shape strategy, give direction and provide oversight of operational delivery.

Mark Dixson, Chair

I joined Citizens Advice Bromley as a trustee in March 2023 and I’m currently Chair of the board. I’ve lived in Bromley for over 20 years. After a career in finance and engineering I was keen to find a role that allowed me to contribute to the local community.

I jumped at the chance of applying to join the board and was even more convinced that I was doing the right thing when I started to meet the team and realised what an impact the organisation has on the lives of so many local people.

I’m proud to play a small part helping support the organisation but even prouder of what our volunteers, staff and management achieve on a daily basis.

Jana Lowe, Trustee

I joined the Board of Trustees in 2024. Having lived in several countries, I’ve seen first-hand how vital strong local communities are to people’s sense of belonging, stability and opportunity.

These experiences have shaped my commitment to helping create environments where everyone feels supported, informed and included, regardless of their circumstances.

Professionally, I’ve built my career in marketing and digital transformation within financial services, leading initiatives that make complex financial products easier to understand and navigate. My work has focused on improving access, clarity and confidence for consumers — especially for those who may feel underserved or overwhelmed by traditional financial systems.

Citizens Advice brings together both of these passions — community and inclusion — and I’m excited to contribute to the charity’s mission of supporting those who need it most.

Emma Brookes, Trustee

I joined the Board of Trustees in 2022 when I moved to the Bromley area. Citizens Advice is such a vitally important organisation and I was keen to support their mission and play a role in supporting my local community.

Professionally I have worked in financial and professional services for over 20 years. I’m a Chartered Accountant but specialise in risk management, investigations, strengthening governance and helping organisations navigate regulations and complex challenges.

Having seen the how hard the staff and volunteers work to deliver the service, and seeing the impact that an accessible-to-all independent advice service can have on lives, I’m honoured to be playing a part.
