Bailiff Call for Evidence

The Ministry of Justice has now released it’s call for evidence on so-called ‘rogue bailiffs’ which runs until 17 February 2019. It asks questions for advice agencies, clients and bailiffs to answer, on themes including vulnerability, further regulation, fees, complaints processes and misleading actions. It is crucial that the advice sector gives evidence. Citizens Advice will respond but agencies should do as well, and even ask clients to.

Thanks for anyone who has provided evidence recently as it’s helped get the issue to this stage. There’s still hard work ahead to get an independent regulator and ombudsman, so we’ll keep going.
